started a topic Cessna Flyer Association

    Cessna Flyer Association

    http://www.cessnaflyer.org/

This is a new organization for Cessna owners and pilots. Their magazine has some good writing, including regular contributions by Thomas Block and Kevin Garrison. The January 2005 issue had a feature article about the 260SE/STOL. One must join to have access to the magazine.

Having been a CPA member, and having also attended several of their ownership and maintenance courses, I second Kevin's recommendation.

They know their stuff about all things Cessna, including the 182.

    Cpa

In my opinion Cessna Pilots Association offers by far the most value and information content, especially access to a wealth of technical information. They also offer weekend ownership/maintenance issue courses, I've heard their 182 course is not to be missed and I hope to attend within the next year. Their forums are often interesting, although it's very much a different crowd than we're used to on COPA and here. However I've noticed contributions from Norm, Louise, and Levon there!

I like the folks at CFA and hope they will grow the organization successfully and gather critical mass, but at present if you're going to join only one, CPA would be my recommendation.

I was wondering which Cessna pilots website that I should join? What is the difference between them and how did they get broken up? There is the Cessna Flyers Association, Cessna Owners Organization and the Cessna Pilots Association from what I see. Are people here members of all or just one or two?

With all these sites including my TBM site, Cirrus Site and Scout site, I'm going to have to quit working completely to keep up!

    260se article pdf available

I have a pdf of the 260se article from the January 2005 issue of Cessna Flyer magazine. It's too large a file too post here but I can e-mail to any registered forum member who requests it. Please contact me via personal message through the forum or via e-mail: n812kt2002 then @ then yahoo then .com

I believe Todd will alo be posting the article in the downloads section of the Peterson's Performace Plus website, but this may take a while.

The Cessna Flyer Association is a relatively new group for Cessna owners and pilots. They have a discussion forum although it's not too well populated yet. In my opinion their magazine has some quite interesting writing (you can decide yourselves whether the above-referenced article meets that standard), which by itself is worth the price of membership.

    OK I joined

    Kevin,
You failed to mention who the author of the article is. Anyone who has spent time on this site would recognize him even without the byline.

They have some interesting content. I'm looking forward to reading some of it. My wife thinks I already spend too much time with my head in the clouds. If I'm not flying or reading about flying I'm practicing for upcoming trips on my flight simulator. Now another magazine and web site to peruse. Just what I need. I think I'm a junkie just waiting for an intervention.

Thanks for the link, remember you got me into this!
